Apparently, the orangutan population is facing extinction, and the biggest (and downright stupidest) reason for it is because their habitats are being destroyed in order to make room for cheep palm oil plantations. But it doesn't have to be this way.
So please- I beg of you- be a smart consumer. Before you purchase anything at all- shampoos, food items, etc- read the ingredients label first. If it has palm oil in it, and it doesn't state that it's orangutan friendly, then it most likely isn't. So if you can, please, either try to avoid buying it, or simply purchase a different brand that doesn't use palm oil, or at least one that has the orangutan-friendly palm oil sticker on it: http://www.cmzoo.org/conservation/palmOilCrisis/images/orangutanFriendlyLogo-ORANGE-clear.gif
